Kingdom Island 1 Year App Anniversary Giveaway!

Hey Dragons! It seems as it has already been a year since Kingdom Island first released their App in Apple's App Store! Can you believe it? In honor of this, Tony has made a post on the Kingdom Island Blog about a BRAND NEW Contest! ^.^

Hello Dragons,

It's officially been one year since Kingdom Island was published to Apple's App Store! A year ago, April 2nd, 2012 we made history being the first virtual world on mobile devices! To celebrate our one year anniversary, we're having a HUGE Kingdom Island giveaway!

This time we're having a photo contest! There will be multiple winners depending on what categories you enter in! The winners will be picked by a staff vote.

How Your Dragon is Made!

It seems a lot of dragons including myself have been anxious to see how the Dragons on Kingdom Island are made. Well, your wish has been granted! Today, Qazar, a moderator for Kingdom Island, posted on the Kingdom Island Blog explaining just how they do it. Check it out!

• First, we start out with a dragon model. Usually this model is made up of all sorts of lines and connections that make up a rough dragon.
• We then preview the model to make sure that nothing was missed, and that everything looks according to plan.
• Finally, we decide what the final look is going to be. Here we can see how the dragon will look like in the game, and if all looks well it is sent over and approved.

Making your dragon takes some time to get everything just right. A lot of items which we have in the game are also made this way!

Wow that's so cool! Seems pretty complex because of how it is to make it. I wish I knew how! ^.^ thanks for the post, Qazar, and a Happy Easter!

Kingdom Island Beta Testing!

Kingdom Island is on the lookout for any helpful dragon interested in beta testing updates to the game before they launch to the public. If you would like to apply, please click here: http://kingdomisland.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=32

Now, not just anybody can be a Beta Tester. They must fit all the requirements set by the Kingdom Island Staff. In order to be accepted to Kingdom Island's beta testing program you must have the following:

• Have a forum account
• Must be a supporter of Kingdom Island (liking our Facebook Page and Twitter Page help)
• Be an active member online
• 13 years of age or older
• A good standing member of the game (no bans or warnings given)

Kingdom Island Sneak Peek & More!

Kingdom Island has been really busy working on their next Big update to the game. Today, Tony gave us a little sneak peek to a HUGE new room coming to the game pretty soon. He also shared some news with us as well.

In this Sneak Peek, we notice what looks like a Robot/Alien-looking Dragon in a glasses case. We also notice some high tech looking doors. What could this room be?

In addition to this Sneak Peek, Tony has also let us in on some info regarding the Kingdom Island Apps.

We've also sent a small update to the HD and free version for iOS. The HD version now has access to the Ballroom as an extra exclusive to that version. We've fixed many bugs in both versions as well. Be sure to update!

This. is. AWESOME! We're so excited to see what this new room is. We really like the colors. Maybe it is Spinno's Secret Lab? It seems like it is kinda of an icy cave sort of deal maybe? What are your guesses?

Today is St. Patrick's Day! Saint Patrick's Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on the 17th of March. In honor of this celebration, Kingdom Island has decorated the Harbor with some fancy decorations! Make sure to log on today and check them out!

St. Patrick's Day is usually associated with luck, right? Well, Viper and I thought it would be cool to have a little contest just for today only! Test your luck to win some Gold!

Kingdom Island St. Patrick's Day Party!

Today, dragons might notice something new about the Harbor. It's decorated for St. Patrick's Day! St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate it than by throwing a party! ^.^ At the Harbor, dragons can notice some green clover balloons, a beautiful rainbow, and a giant Pot O' Gold!

In addition to this, dragons may also notice the first appearance of Bugz! You can notice him at the top of the Pot O' Gold wearing a Leprechaun Hat. ^.^ Qazar has stated that Bugz will only be appearing during parties.

     

This is Kingdom Island's FIRST party! Not only that, but there are plenty more to come soon along with free items! We think they did pretty good considering this is their first party. Can't wait for more parties this year along with more decorated rooms!

Kingdom Island App Now Merged!

It is finally here, dragons! For months, there has been talk of the staff merging the app into the online Kingdom Island. This meaning that everyone who signs on the Kingdom Island Apps can play the online version! Well, they have done it! You can now play Kingdom Island Online straight from your iOS Device. Before you do so, please make sure you update the app! (Update either HD or the Free Version)

Now, once you log on, you will notice some new features! HD Only clothes! This means that only users who own the HD App can purchase some special clothing!

This is awesome! Aviator Gear and a Firefighter Suit! Check out Viper modeling it on her dragon ^.^

This is too cool! In addition to HD only items, there will be a ton of players on the game now! Most of the players were on the app instead of the online version, and now they're conjoined!

Thank you so much for this update, Kingdom Island Staff. We love it, and appreciate all the hard work put into this merge. We look forward to future updates now that this big roadblock has been pushed through ^.^

Kingdom Island Item Design Contest Results!

Since January, Kingdom Island has been hosting a "Design an Item" Contest. This Contest required users to draw an item they'd like in the game and submit it. The winner of this contest would receive and special keychain along with having their item IN THE GAME! ^.^

In addition to this, Kingdom Island also selected Runner-Ups which received prizes as well! ^.^

Kingdom Island Pink Color Update

During the Kingdom Island 2.0 Update, several new colors were released. One of these colors was a brand new pink color! At first, it seemed a little purplish on the dragon avatars, so the Kingdom Island Staff have updated the color to make it more pink! Check it out!

Here is how the Pink looked and how it looks now. Can you spot the differences? (They have also made the dragon shadow a higher opacity so it is not as dominant)

Kingdom Island "Design an Item Contest" Finished!

For a couple weeks now, Kingdom Island has been hosting a contest on the forums. This contest was a "Design and Item" Contest. The task was for players to draw, online or offline, a clothing item they want to incorporate into Kingdom Island. Each player could submit 3 clothing articles, and then the staff would vote for the winning item which will be put in the game!

The Contest has come to a close, and Kingdom Island has updated their Community page with all of the entries! Check them out!

Great job to everyone who entered! The clothing looks amazing! I can't wait to see who wins! The winner will be announced later this month so stay tuned!

Kingdom Island Ballroom Update!

Kingdom Island's new room, the Ballroom, has been out for about a week now. The staff have been talking about updating the room a little bit, and they have! Now, when you visit the Ballroom, you will see some more new features!

Some new updates to this room would be that there are more tables. In addition to that, they have added a beautiful white piano!

I really like this update! Although, I think it might be better to move the piano around, and make the chairs more easier to sit in. This would help players be more interactive with the game and with their friends! ^.^

Kingdom Island NPC Mini Update

Kingdom Island has recently updated the game with NPC's. NPC stands for Non-Playing Characters. They were introduced during the Kingdom Island 2.0 Update. It seems Bibby and Lisa have grown in size since the last update!

This is a minor update to a few NPC's ,and I like it! Gives them more of an adult look don't you think? I think Greeny should be the next to update ^.^ What do you all think of this update?

Kingdom Island iOS Wallpapers

 Recently, Kingdom Island has updated their "More" section of their website with some Wallpapers! These wallpapers are available for everyone with an iOS Device!

This is pretty cool, I like it! Looking forward to some for computers as well! My favorite would have to be Lola's because all of the colors blend together very well. What do you guys think?

Kingdom Island Free Item - Burger Hat

The Kingdom Island Updates are here! With this update, it seems Bigly has opened up shop at the Harbor with his Burger Stand! In honor of this opening, he's giving away free item! This item is... a Burger Hat! To get this hat, walk into the Burger Stand! (Tip: Click the top left of the Bun)

Click "Receive" and it will be added into your dragon's inventory! ^.^

This item is funny, haha! I love it! Fits Bigly pretty well, too! Not only that, but this is Kingdom Island's First ever free item! Congrats guys! What do you guys think of it?

Kingdom Island 2.0 Updates!

MORE UPDATES TO COME THROUGHOUT THE DAY

It is here, everyone! For the past couple of months, the Kingdom Island staff have been working long days and nights to accomplish many goals. These goals being to make the game better, and more fun for each player of the game. At the moment, the staff have been in the works of Kingdom Island 2.0. This would be the second version of Kingdom Island. We have waited and finally... FINALLY... it is here!

New Colors: The Colors we voted on the forums are here! The winning colors were Black, Orange, and Pink! You can change your color using your playercard.

Silver: Silver is the newest currency within Kingdom Island! It is the main currency, right next to gold. You don't have to buy silver, and with it, you can purchase some awesome stuff! Silver is available around the rooms of the game, sort of like hide and seek! Each coin you collect on the game, counts as 10 silver for your dragon!

New Clothing: Yay! More clothing is here, along with the Silver! You may even purchase the new clothing with it! ^.^

NPC's: NPC's are here! These are non playing characters! Elmer the Elder, Bibby, and Greeny can be seen on the game, with plenty of others as well!

New Room: Ball Room With this update, Dragons can visit a very fancy room of the castle for only 50 Gold! Check it out! To get there, walk to the door in the middle of the castle courtyard. Then, pay 50 gold! ^.^

Volcano Update: Kingdom Island has decided to redo the size of the Volcano, and also redesign the inside! It looks great! (Thank you for using my suggestion, guys!)

Moderators [GM]: Moderators can now be identified easier by their Official Kingdom Island Safety Vests! Check it out!

New Emotes: As stated in Kingdom Island's Sneak Peek, new emotes are here! There are a ton of them, so there is plenty to choose from! 

Chat Log Scrolling: Because of the high demand, chatting is now easier! Instead of only seeing three messages in the chat logs, players now have the ability to scroll up using the arrows on the sides! ^.^

Burger Stand: Now you're probably thinking... burger stand?! Haha it's fun, trust me! Head on over to the left most side of the Harbor, and sell some dragons some world famous burgers! ^.^ Be careful though, Bigly is a very hungry dragon!

Following Limit Message: As of now, the following limit on Kingdom Island is 50. Once you reach this limit, you may follow no more. When you try to follow someone, this message will pop up.

Login Failure Message: With this update, Dragons get  message letting them know they have either incorrectly entered their log in information, or the Kingdom Island Server is down.

These updates are just... MINDBLOWING! Viper and I can;t take our eyes off them! Amazing job to the staff! My favorite thing about this update is the new room, and the clothing! What do you guys think?

Kingdom Island Game Moderators - Who Are They?

Recently, new players to Kingdom Island have had troubles determining what a "[GM]" is. Mark has decided to take the time and write a blog post on the Kingdom Island Forums explaining everything you need to know about them! Here is what he had to say.

"There has been some confusion lately on just what a [GM] is exactly, so hopefully this will clear things up.

A [GM] is a a game moderator for Kingdom Island. These are the staff members that created the game. Some staff members work on the art, some on the music, and some work just on keeping the game safe. This is denoted in game with a green [GM] next to their name. Game moderators can kick and ban players that are breaking the rules, but they are also there to help you out if you have any questions about the game. 

Any player that does not have the [GM] next to their name is not a staff member. 

This is what a game moderator looks like in game.

As of February 2013 the only moderators are:

-Sparkart

-Jake

-Mark

Note that even though a person has the name of a staff member, the [GM] next to their name, but its NOT GREEN, is NOT a moderator."

IMPERSONATING A STAFF MEMBER IS A BANNABLE OFFENSE AND IT IS STRICTLY ENFORCED

Kingdom Island 2.0

For months now, the Kingdom Island staff have been working long and hard to create a better way for players to experience the game. They're making new clothes, new colors, new rooms, fixing bugs, and plenty more behind the scenes stuff. Recently on their Twitter, they announced a BIG announcement was coming. Well it is here!

On the Kingdom Island Blog, they explained when the big updates are coming! Not only that, but they left a couple sneak peaks for us! Here is what Tony had to say on the blog.

Hello Dragons,

 Finally, we're ready to release Kingdom Island's HTML5 2.0 version update! We have a few days of testing and will have it live for all to play on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013!

 This update is big... well worth the month wait. There are so many new features, we're so excited to share them all with you- so be sure to be online February the 2nd to experience the 2.0 update! There are a few spoilers in blog posts back and in the image above. What do you see?

 We also want to remind everyone to submit their entries to our item design contest which ends on February 10th. Forum accounts are free to create and a great way to connect with other Kingdom Island players! Staff reads every idea. In fact, a few of the ideas posted on the forums made it into the 2.0 update. Pretty cool! Be sure to join the forums and tell your friends via Facebook and Twitter about the 2.0 update!

Yay! The Updates are coming! And not only that, but look, a new color! It seems that one of the new colors we voted for on the forums, black, will be in the game! ^.^  But wait... what's that dot in the "2.0" chat bubble? Well, it's silver! You know how you have to buy gold for items in the game at the moment? Well say hello to an in-game currency called silver! ^.^ This will be the currency most frequently used within the game most likely.

Viper and I are so excited for the updates, and we definitely can't wait to see them! Everyone Make sure to log on February 2nd, and be the first to witness all the cool updates!

BIG Announcement Coming Soon?!

A lot of work is being put into Kingdom Island. Each and every day the staff slave away as they work to create one of the most unique virtual worlds anyone has ever seen. A lot of talk about big updates has been thrown around by the staff. Everyone, including us, are excited for these updates!

Updates are SO close! From clothing, to bug fixes, and even NEW ROOMS, the staff have been working very hard to release them. Well, today Kingdom Island posted on the Official Blog some sneak peeks! Check it out!

Hello Dragons, 

We have been working really hard to bring you the best game experience through multiple device gameplay and are nearly complete with the next update. That's right, update 2.0 will bring our iOS game and our online game together, making it the first virtual world to reach multiple platforms and the first virtual world to utilize the new HTML5 technology. 

Along with that exciting news, we have some new features that we are going to be adding to to the 2.0 update. As you may have seen from our spoiler on the main page, we have new items coming out! 

Above is a sneak peek at some of the new updates coming to the game. What can you see? We're super excited to share these new features with everyone, stay tuned for the release date! Oh, did we mention there's going to be free items for all members?

Kingdom Island Clothing Sneak Peek!

Kingdom Island has been working on brand new updates for a while at the moment. One of these updates being clothing. Well, today, they have updated their homepage with a sneak peek of some clothing that is coming! You can see this clothing at the bottom of the Kingdom Island Homepage in the "Purchase Gold" section.

In this picture, we can see the following clothing items:

• Aviator Helmet/Goggles
• Red Scarf
• Aviator Vest
• Jeans 
• A Bug (Pet?)

I'm guessing that these will be special Gold-Only items. I better stock up on some gold!

This is SO awesome! I absolutely can not wait for clothing! So far, they look really good! What do you guys think? What are you hoping to see? Comment and let us know!

Kingdom Island Game Moderators

The Kingdom Island Staff are very fun to be around, but they are very busy most of the time designing rooms, clothes, fixing bugs, and more. So busy in fact, they may not have time to moderate the game. Well, you all know Jake and Mark, right? They are the game's Moderator's.

Well, on Kingdom Island's Staff Page, they have updated it with a "Game Moderators" section. Check it out.

I'm glad they updated the Staff page so people know who Mark and Jake are haha! Something that peaks my interest though... Will Moderators have those clothing items? I think it'd be cool because it'd identify them easier for newer members! What do you guys think?

Kingdom Island Invisible Glitch!

Today, my friend Pacman logged on, but there was something strange about him. He was missing his dragon! Nothing seemed to show but his username! Strange, isn't it? Now, I do not know how this happened, but when I do, I'll be sure to let you guys know!

 Here is how it looked.

This is awesome! Not only that, but when I clicked his dragon, his dragon was also invisible on his Dragon I.D! Check it out!

This is awesome! Hopefully this bug is fixed soon! If this does happen to you, just change your color and it will be fixed! (thanks to Pacman for letting me know!)

New iOS/Desktop Wallpapers Soon!

Recently, KingdomIsland has tweeted on their Official Twitter Account that they will be making Wallpapers for iOS devices, and desktops! Now every player can have their favorite dragon characters as their backgrounds!
